PURPOSE:To obtain a product with high dimensional accuracy by properly setting roll opening degree at the time of reoperation of a rolling stand which is stopped in the state that a rolled stock is bitten into a continuous mill. CONSTITUTION:First, the relationship formula between rolling reduction and load at a rolling stand which is operated in the state that the rolled stock is not bitten is determined and rolling reduction S1 corresponding to a prescribed load P1 is calculated using this relationship formula (101). Next, rolling load PA and thickness hA on the outlet side just before operation is stopped in the state that the rolled stock is bitten into the rolling stand are measured (102). Then, using the relationship formula between the roll opening degree and the rolling load that is obtained by correcting the relationship formula between rolling reduction and load by a coefficient CV that is decided by the width-of sheet, the roll opening degree SO corresponding to the measured above-mentioned rolling load PA and thickness hA on the outlet side is calculated (103). Lastly, the reference roll opening degree is defined as XO and the roll opening degree ZS at the time of reoperation in the state that the rolled stock is bitten into the rolling stand is set according to ZS=XO+SO+SI (104).
