PURPOSE:To enable the molding of a novel composite magnetic material being abundant in conductivity and excellent in the mechanical property and magnetism of a molded body by a simple method wherein mixed powder consisting of Zn-22Al superplastic alloy powder, magnetic powder and plastic powder is molded under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:Mixed powder consisting of Zn-22Al superplastic alloy powder 2, magnetic powder 1 and plastic powder 3 is molded at a temperature of 100-250 deg.C under the molding pressure of 1-30kgf/mm2 (first molding method). Similar mixed powder 1-3 is subjected to hot press for 10-60min at a temperature of 100-250 deg.C under the molding pressure of 1-20kgf/mm2 (second molding method). Similar mixed powder 1-3 is molded at a room temperature under the molding pressure of 1-50kgf/ mm2 and then calcined at 100-250 deg.C (third molding method). Thereby a composite material wherein the characteristics of a Zn-22Al superplastic effectively as they are and which is reinforced by the addition of plastics can be obtained, and it can be excepted, for its properties, not only to be used as a magnetically hard material, but also to be used widely as a magnetically soft material, such as an electromagnetic wave absorbing material, or the like.
