ORIENTATION PROCESSING METHOD FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT BY RUBBING

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent the peeling of a rubbing cloth from a roll by fitting the cloth to the peripheral surface of the roll with an electrically conductive double- coated adhesive tape obtd. by filling an adhesive in to the cavities in rugged metallic foil. CONSTITUTION:A rubbing cloth 6 is fitted to the peripheral surface of a roll 7 with an electrically conductive double-coated adhesive tape 5 obtd. by filling an adhesive 10 into the cavities 9a, 9b in rugged metallic foil 8. Since one of the bottom of each recessed part 8a of the foil 8 and the top of each protruding part 8b is brought into contact with the roll 7 and the other into contact with the cloth 6, electrical conduction between the roll 7 and the cloth 6 can be ensured. Since the adhesive 10 at one side of the tape 5 adheres the foil 8 to the roll 7 and the adhesive at the other side adheres the cloth 6 to the foil 8, the cloth 6 can be stuck to the roll 7 with the adhesive 10 on both sides of the foil 8 and the peeling of the cloth can be prevented.
