SPIKE PROTRUDING ON ICY ROAD FOR ANTISKID OF TIRE WHILE RETREATING ON NON-ICY ROAD

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent slippage of tire on an icy road and damage on a paved road using a tire wherein spikes equipped with shafts are set in grooves on the crown by means of hinge. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 1 having a scalene triangle in its longitudinal section are arranged with a constant distance on the crown of a tire, wherein the longer side of the groove 1 serves as a front wall 2 while the shorter side as a rear wall. On the right and left sides of base bottom 4 of the groove 1 a bearing 7 supporting the shaft 5 of a spike 6 is embedded. On the midway of the rear face of spike 6 a hinge opening upwards is provided, to which a platelike sup port 9 is attached. Then the spike 6 is pressed to the front wall 2 of the groove 1 to store while is pressed to the rear wall 3 to protrude.
