PURPOSE: To make it possible to lower the sintering temp. of a powder molding and to obtain a high relative density without a sintering assistant by synthesiz ing a ternary system PbZrO3-PbTiO3-Pb(Mn1/3Sb2/3)O3 by a chemical coprecpitation method. ;CONSTITUTION: An aq. Pb(NO3)2 soln. (a) of a concn. of 0.5 to 2 M, an aq. ZrO(NO3)2 soln. (b) of a concn. of 0.5 to 2 M, an aq. Mn(NO3)2 soln. (c) of an Mn concn. of 0.0032 to 0.0035g/ml, an SbCl3 alcohol soln. (d) of an Sb concn. of 0.01 to 0.024g/ml and a titanyl soln. (e) of a Ti concn. of 0.05 to 0.2 g/ml are respectively formed. Next, the solns. (a) to (e) are mixed at the ratios desired for the final piezoelectric ceramic compsn. and an aq. KOH soln. of 4.5 to 6.5 M is added as a precipitating agent under reaction conditions of a pH of about 11 to 14 and about 60 to 90°C to this mixture. The coprecipitation of the metal parts of the mixture is achieved as the precipitated compsn. of the metal oxide or hydroxide. This precipitated compsn. is fired after the soln. is removed, by which the piezoelectric compsn. is formed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
