METHOD FOR CAKING RADIOACTIVE REFUSE AND RADIOACTIVE WASTE CAKED BODY

PURPOSE:To prevent a radioactive material from leaking directly when a storage container breaks or corrodes and to reduce the distribution nearby the wall of the container by charging the solid refuse in a basket-shaped container held in the storage container at an interval with its wall, and then charging a setting material. CONSTITUTION:The basket-shaped container 2 is inserted and combined while forming a space 4 with the wall of the storage container 1 at the lower part and side part, and the solid refuse 5 is charged therein. Then the setting agent 6 from a setting agent supply means is made to flow in the space 4 and container 2 and thus charged in the gap and space 4 and above the refuse 5 in the container 2, and the container is covered with a 1 id 1B and sealed. Then the containers 1 and 2, refuse 5, and setting agent 6 are united by the setting of the setting agent 6 to fix the refuse 5. Then no radioactive material is mixed with the solid refuse isolation phase 6 of the caked body of the refuse 5 which is manufactured and the phase serves as an outflow preventive attenuation layer for underground water when radiation is cut off or when a shallow layer is disposed of. Thus, even if the container 1 breaks or corrodes, the diffusion can be precluded.
