NEW MATERIAL:A DNA coding cysteine dioxygenase. EXAMPLE:A rat liver cysteine dioxygenase having an amino acid sequence of the formula. USE:Production of rat liver cysteine dioxygenase, etc. PREPARATION:Poly(A)+RNA is isolated from the liver of rats fed with a 18% casein feed containing 0.3wt.% of L-methionine, and using lambdagt11, cDNA library is prepared, its screening is then made with polyclonal antibody for rat liver CDO, and one positive clone is selected from 125000 plaque-forming units. Using an insert of this clone as probe, the cDNA library is further screened, and 5 clones manifesting positive response by hybridization from the 125000 plaque- forming units are isolated, thus purifying long insert-contg. clone and determining the sequence.
