TEST FOR TRYING THE SUSCEPTIBILITY OF STEELS AND OTHER ALLOYS TO COLD AND LAMELLAR CRACKING IN ELECTRIC ARC WELDING

This sample is used to test the metal properties of welded seams in laboratory conditions. It analyses vertical straps of various thickness by delivering authentic results at high repetition and in conditions considered the most unfavourable in welding of real constructions. The sample consists of a main plate (1), in which are formed incisions with two G-shaped samples (2) fitted into them, and fastened unyieldingly through wedges (3). The fronts of the G-shaped samples are slanted in advance and among them, on the main plate (1), the tested sample (4) is freely placed. It is placed on the main plate in such a way that, after the implementation of two-sided welded seams, and their subsequent cooling, it is strained along its thickness.
