A new biologically active substance of general formula I R2OCO(CH2)2COOCH(R1)-C6H4-O CH2CHBrC(ORl)CH3)2(I), where the symbol Rl represents the alkyl group with straight or branched chain with a maximum of 3 carbon atoms, R2 represents the group (CH3)2C(OR1)(CH2)3-l(CH3)-C HBrCH2O-C6H4-Cl, where R1 has the abovementioned meaning. Its pesticidal effects were tested on termites. Also resolved is the method of preparation of the material of general formula I, based on the reaction of a monoester derivative of general formula II HOCO(CH2)2COOCH(R1)-C6H4-OCH2. n.CHBrC(OR1)(CH3)2 (II), where R1 has the abovementioned meaning, with alcohol of general formula III (CH3)2C(OR1)(CH2)3COH(CH3)C HBrCH2O-C6H4-Cl(III), where R1 has the abovementioned meaning, in the presence of an equimolar quantity of dicyclohexyl carbodiimide and catalytic quantity of 4-dimethylaminopyridine in an environment of anhydrous diethylether at 15 to 25 degrees C.
