The dryer comprises a collector of the combustion gases from the regeneration chambers of the open hearth furnace. The collector is connected to two concentric pipes of different lengths. The gases at 700-1000 deg.C, enter the chamber and are reflected by the brickwork at the bottom. The gases then leave via an outlet pipe.
