The invention concerns a device for winding up a strap, for example a tightening strap. It comprises an elongate member (1) which at one end forms a handle (2) and which at its opposite end has a guide device for the strap (6) which is to be wound up. Approximately at its middle the member (1) has a crank (7) with an attachment device for the strap (6). The guide device may advantageously consist of two parallel guide pins (4, 5) extending at substantially right angles from said member (1), and the attachment device for the strap (6) can consist of two mutually parallel crank pins (8, 9) which are connected to the crank (7).
