ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe present invention is concerned with a method ofthermally decomposing hydrocarbons and a thermal decompositiontube used therefor. A plurality of spiral fins are formed on theinner wall of the thermal decomposition tube. Since no-finportions are formed on portions where the fins are cut away, theflow of hydrocarbons through the no-fin portions is turbulent to asuitable degree. For this reason, coke is prevented from adheringto the inner wall of the thermal decomposition tube.
