ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREAn orthodontic tooth positioning appliance isprovided for correcting open-bite which includes a webregion engageable by the posterior teeth to preventfurther eruption of those teeth and a vertical gapbetween the occlusal surfaces of the anterior teeth topermit further eruption of those teeth. The appliancemay also include a tongue guide profile including atleast one pointed protrusion on the lingual side of thelower midline portion of the appliance and a recessedarea above the protrusion for receiving a tip of thetongue.
