High Efficiency Transonic Mixed-Flow CompressorMethod and ApparatusAbstract of the DisclosureMethod and apparatus for compression of elastic fluidssuch as air in a rotary continuous flow process particularly ofinterest in the turbomachinery field. Resulting structure has anenvelope or outer diameter favorably comparable with axial flowcompressors and a static pressure ratio, cost, and resistance toFOD comparable to centrifugal compressors. Jet propulsion engineapparatus incorporating such a compressor is also presented.
