VALVULOTOME WITH LEAFLET DISRUPTION HEADS AND FLUID SUPPLY

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA valvulotome for rendering venous valve leafletsincompetent includes a rigid support comprising a fluidsupply tube and, molded thereon, a dilator, and first andsecond valve disrupting heads. Each of the disruptingheads has a plane of symmetry, wherein the planes ofsymmetry of the two disrupting heads are relatively rotatedby about 90°. A fluid emitting end of the fluid supply tubecommunicates with an irrigation port in a disrupting headso that fluid emitted through the irrigation port, duringuse, applies pressure to the valve leaflets to bedisrupted. The other end of the fluid supply tube isswaged onto a catheter which in turn is coupled to a fluidsupply source for the purpose of supplying fluid to theirrigation port.
