CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY FOR HYDROMASSAGING APPARATUS AND IMPROVED HYDROMASSAGING APPARATUS USING SUCH CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY

The present invention relates to a particularly advantageous improvement in check valve assembly for hydromassaging apparatus of the type provided with a plurality of openings positioned below a level of water. A check valve assembly is to be mounted across each of said openings. Each improved check valve assembly is of the type comprising a casing having an inlet, an outlet, a conduit extending from the inlet to the outlet and a partition provided with an orifice and transversally positioned across the conduit; means fastened to the casing and including at least one membrane adapted to react to a differential of pressure to either allow (check valve open) or prevent (check valve closed) fluid communication through the orifice; and means adapted for axially setting and fastening the check valve to seal a corresponding opening of the apparatus. The improvement is that aforesaid means including at least one membrane advantageously consist of a sleeve having opposite ends, means adapted for axially setting and fastening it to seal a corresponding orifice in the partition, one end of the sleeve defining an inlet, the other end being intended to define an outlet, and one or several membranes made of resilient and flexible material partly fastened to the end of the sleeve defining and outlet, said membrane(s) being of sufficient size to either completely cover and seal the outlet of the sleeve (check valve closed) or have its (their) unfastened portion(s) moved away from the outlet of the sleeve (check valve open). The above-mentioned improvement for a check valve assembly make it easier to use and manufacture than check valve assemblies that were formerly preferred to use. The invention also relates to an improved jet bath massaging or hydromassaging apparatus (especially a therapeutic bath) provided with the above mentioned check valve assemblies.
