EDGE BELT SANDER WITH SWINGABLER DUST HOOD

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA swingable dust hood is provided for use in the dustremoval system of an endless belt type working machine. The dusthood has a jet air cleaner positioned on an inner wall whichblows dust and other particles off the workpiece for exhaust viaan outlet connected to the dust hood. A pivot rod is fixed tothe outer shell of the dust hood and is rotatably journalled in apivot receptacle bracketed to the machine support table. Thehood can accordingly be positioned in three primary positions;namely, a first position wherein the hood completely encases aroll when the workpiece does not extend part the form platen; asecond position wherein the hood partially encloses the piecewhen the workpiece is extended past the platen; and a thirdposition wherein the hood is swung back to completely expose thedrive roll to permit changing or repair of the endless beltand/or the roll.
