Process for pretreatment of an isomerization process feedstock containing light hydrocarbons

A light hydrocarbon feedstream for an isomerization process using a catalyst that is sensitive to sulfur compounds, oxygenates and water is pretreated to remove such contaminants. The feedstock is passed to a first adsorption containing a molecular sieve (13 x zeolite) and thereafter passed to a second adsorption zone containing activated alumina. The process produces a hydrocarbon feedstock substantially free of sulfur compounds, oxygenates, and water.
