The carousel comprises a mast (8) substantially vertical support means for nacelle (14) mounted for rectilinear translation along the mast (8), drive means (22, 24, 26) for translating the support means (14) along the mast (8) between a low position and a high position and vice versa, and a nacelle (16) movably mounted relative to said support means (14). According to the invention, the carousel further comprises a hub-shaft torque (40) of which one (41) of the ends is integral with the support means (14) and whose other end (49) is integral with the surface side of a cylindrical drum (50), the shaft (47) following being rotatably mounted a substantially horizontal axis, drive means (55, 56, 57) for rotating the shaft (47) around its substantially horizontal axis, while the platform (16) comprises at least one cylindrical portion (58) housed inside the drum (50) and rotatably guided within said drum (50) along a substantially vertical axis, and it is provided drive means (62, 64, 66) for rotating the cylindrical part of the nacelle (16) in the drum (50), thereby subjecting passengers to a complete revolution about a substantially vertical axis and a complete revolution about a substantially horizontal axis.
