In vitro method of diagnosing senile dementia of the Alzheimer type

An in vitro method is provided for diagnosing of senile dementia of the Alzheimer type (Alzheimer's disease) by testing for an anomalous molecular form of acetylcholinesterase in cerebrospinal fluid of a patient.
