A device for the removal of hydrocarbons and chlorinated aromatic water comprises a container (1) containing filling material (4) on which is spread contaminated water. For maintaining a vacuum in the container (1) and for the suction of the so produced steam-gas mixture is arranged a vacuum system, and for discharging the purified water is provided an outlet (6). In order to improve the suction, it is provided to insert, for the suction of the steam-gas mixture at several levels of fillers (4), tubes (7, 8, 9) protruding perforated there.
