The measuring system uses a measuring head displaced along the shaft or drainage channel, with measurement of the relative position of points along its surface, the measuring head positioned relative to a fixed reference system via a computer-controlled device. The measuring head allows required areas of the inside surface to be displayed on a monitor screen (16) with a given magnification. The computer uses software for controlling the measuring head, for determining the measured valves, for data and image storage and for access by the uses to auxiliary functions.
