Date Apr. 10, 1986.An ordinarily made thin steel sheet is placed in an atmosphere bearing SiCl4, and subjecting to Si penetrating treatment at temperatures between 1100 DEG C. and 1200 DEG C. for a determined period of time. A heating rate is used which is more than 50 DEG C./sec at the temperatures of more than 1000 DEG C. in the SiCl4 atmosphere. Thereby, it is possible to manufacture thin steel sheet of high magnetic permeability without internal defects.
