Provided in a bus (1) is an apparatus for separating a passenger compartment (2) from the driver's compartment (3) by means of partition walls (4, 5) and locking bars (7) which are arranged on said walls and are held in self-aligning bearings (6). A self-aligning bearing is composed essentially of a clamping holder (8) which is fixedly connected to the partition wall (4, 5), of a pivot piece (9) which is fixedly connected to the locking bar (7), of a torsion spring (12) and of a bearing bolt (11) which is formed in one piece, is anchored in a rotationally fixed manner in the forks (10, 10') of the clamping holder (8) and is mounted, such that it can pivot counter to the force of the torsion spring (12), on the pivot piece (9). Fitted on the fork base (18) of the clamping holder (8) is an intermediate piece (19) having a dome-shaped depression (20) corresponding to the sphere-segment-like shaping (17), of the pivot-piece head, which rolls in said depression.
