In ancient times it was known to take a hay bath which could only be taken for a short period of time after bringing in the hay when the hay in the haystack had heated up to high temperatures. Application of such a hay bath on a large scale has hitherto been impossible and requires an excessive amount of hay to be replaced after the hay bath for reasons of hygiene. Improved application of a hay bath all through the year with a smaller amount of hay required is made possible in that a specific amount of hay, grass or herbs is pretreated with water, and in that only small amounts of the pretreated hay are placed on a steam- permeable horizontal platform, and in that the solution of active substances generated in the pretreatment is additionally evaporated. The method and the device are especially suitable for taking a hay bath. IMAGE
