To print a multi-colour design in succession on textile fabrics, partic. T-shirts, using an assembly with a number of holding points each with a sliding printing screen extending outwards at right angles from a recirculating path, the contours of the pattern are applied or stitched to a reference piece as an original, and the screens are placed over it in succession for alignment in register as its pallet is moved through in successive steps. The printed original is then moved to a register station, and the original pattern is projected on to it to bring the projection and the printed pattern in register. The garments to be printed are then initially passed to the register station, to be aligned, and then moved through the colour stations for the pattern to be printed. ADVANTAGE - The first item to be printed is aligned in register easily and rapidly to give further printings of orinted or unprinted T-shirts with all the printed elements in register.
