Machining tool checking system using microwave radar - with radar waves evaluated to check tool presence, tool type and tool size

The tool checking system uses a microwave radar providing an antenna cone enclosing the rotating spindle head. The radar waves are used for scanning specific parts of the tool, to check that the tool is fitted, that it is of the correct type and of the correct size. Pref. the amplitude and phase of the radar echo signals are evaluated via a processing logic (50). USE - For numerically-controlled milling or drilling machine tool.
