The glazing consists of a loosely insertable glass unit consisting of two parallel panes (2). In their edge areas, the panes have distance or frame profiles (4) which create a hollow space for the subsequent accommodation of a fire protection filling. The distance or frame profiles have a filler aperture (6) for the fire protection filling, and an outlet aperture (7) for air. The filler aperture (6) is formed in the base of the glass unit. The constituent panes of the glass unit have different thicknesses and/or material properties, and further parallel glass panes are provided in connection with the glass unit (1). USE - As a double-glazed window with fire protection facility.
