Fire-resistant P-contg. mixts. (I) based on acrylonitrile (co)polymers (II) are claimed. (I) contain (A) 97-75 (pref. 95-85) wt.% (II) with K value 30-130 contg. at least 50 (pref. at least 75) wt.% acrylonitrile and 500-2800 (pref. 700-210) mequiv. COOH gps./kg polymer. 0-100% of which is in the form of salts of 1- to 3-valent cations. (B) 3-25 (pref. 5-15) wt.% (poly)organophosphazene of formula (III) or (IV) and opt. other normal additives. In the formulae, Xi, X1-X6 = -O-alkyl, -O-aryl, NH2, NHR or NR1R2 (with R, R1, R2 = alkyl or aryl; (IV) contains 3-50000 (pref. 3-15) repeating P=N units. Also claimed are moulded prods. including fibres, produced from (I). USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful in the form of solns. in highly polar solvents, for spinning fireproof threads and fibres (claimed). Provides acrylonitrile (co)polymer compsns. with good fire-retardant properties without using halogen-contg. fire retardant additives. (8pp Dwg.No.0/0)
