In mfg. patterned laminated plates, with a core layer and at least one pattern layer to be bonded together in a single level press by heat and pressure, the core layer is composed of a number of layers of kraft paper with a pattern layer film above and/or below it. The kraft paper layers are formed from rolls of wound webs which are drawn into the press in lengths according to the press working action. The pattern film layer is a section of film matching the plate length, laid across the direction of travel on to the core layer above and/or below it. The sandwich is fed into the press, and the paper webs are cut behind the press. The cut paper feed is held in place by rolls, which feed the paper into the press when it is opened for the next operation.
