The two main constituents involved, i.e. the door itself (1) and the bodywork column, are made of assembled hollow bodies (6). The door consists of an outer and an inner plate. The door is linked to the bodywork column by hinge halves, one of which (6) is of one-piece construction with the inner door plate. In the ara of this hinge half, the door plate is of strengthened wall material. The hinge pin joining the two halves of the hinge is provided with a hemispherical head part which is accommodated in a bowl-shaped deepened formation in a corresp. wall section (10). USE - As a hinge linkage for a road vehicle door or tail-gate.
