A signal and alarm device is designed to emit scent signals. It comprises a fragrance supply (1) having a fragrance chamber (2), a storage chamber and solid scent generating material (4), which is connected to the fragrance chamber (2). There is a pumping diaphragm (3) which varies the volume of the fragrance chamber (2), and one or more emission apertures (5) for the fragrance (4), which are formed as blow tubes. USE/ADVANTAGES - Esp. for alerting deaf people, e.g. for door bells or alarm clocks. The signal can have a long range and can be directed as required. Can be used with an alarm clock.
