Supermarket trolley with self service costing of goods - has cost and weight totalled by customer with checkout based upon weight agreement

The supermarket trolley (2) has a basket for goods on a frame that also provides a mounting for a small computer and display module (4). A scanning pen is used (7) by the customer to read barcodes on products to be purchased. Price and weight data is entered into memory. When the customer reaches a check output the computer memory content is down-loaded to a main computer. The weight value stored is compared with the measured weight obtd. from locating the trolley on a load cell. If in agreement the stored price is accepted without further checking. ADVANTAGE - Simplifies checking of goods at check out.
