The device for operating a friction clutch has a swivel mounted disengagement lever (37) engaged at its free end by a clutch cable (47). This disengagement lever (37) is mounted in the clutch bell (12) by means of a slide bearing (35, 36) or by means of a rolling bearing such as a needle bearing (36). The slide or needle bearing can be mounted in a socket (31) which is pressed into a bore (33) of the clutch bell (12) by means of a stud (32). USE/ADVANTAGE - The disengagement lever has a broad bearing base resulting in reduced vibrations and noise levels.
