Vehicular heating and ventilation system counteracting draught effect - includes electric motor driven flap and control of relative duration of ventilation towards face and feet

An automatic controller with a time switch (C) adjusts the supply of air from the fan to the windscreen and footwell alternately in response to movement of a knob (A) on a scale (B) representing the relative durations of both phases. The distribution of air is varied by operation of a flap (D) by an electric motor within the engine compartment under the control of the time switch (C). Either windscreen or footwell ventilation can be inhibited entirely. ADVANTAGE - Adverse effects of draught on passengers' health and well-being esp. with forced ventilation are neutralised.
