Throttle opening sensor calibration for internal combustion engine - derives difference between nominal and actual angles from measurement of exhaust gas lambda for correction purposes
Throttle opening sensor calibration for internal combustion engine - derives difference between nominal and actual angles from measurement of exhaust gas lambda for correction purposes
The angular setting of the throttle flap (13) by the accelerator pedal (16) is measured (17) and stored in electrically erasable programmable read only memory (20) together with measured values of lambda (15) and engine speed. A control unit (18) refers to a lookup table in read-only memory (19) and stores the computed angular difference in the E2PROM (20). Outputs are applied to e.g. a fuel injector (14). ADVANTAGE - Compensates for influences of offset between throttle flap and angle encoder, e.g. due to axial misalignment, false zeroing or variations in cross section of inlet.
