An optical fibre (2) is connected to a laser beam source (1). The light emergent end (3) of this fibre is slidable in the region of the clip (4) of the suction needle (5). The optical fibre is guided along the needle. The fibre is slidably guided in an inner guide tube (7) of the needle. The latter has an inclined edge tip. The region offset backwards (8) is bowed inwards towards the axis of the needle. Pref., the light emergent end of the fibre is slidable in the needle lip region (9) that extends furthest forward. The laser beam is measured so that the drawn off lens tissue is emulsified. the laser source is a holmium-YAG laser.
