Ozone removal from gas mixt. by filtering through two catalysts - first platinum@ to convert reactive gas to inert gas, then catalyst converting ozone to oxygen@
Elimination of O3 from gas mixts. (I) is carried out by passing (I) first through a Pt catalyst (II), which converts chemically reactive gases (III) into chemically inert gases, and than through a second catalyst (IV), which converts O3 to O2. (IV) consists of activated charcoal and/or Mn oxide and opt. also contains metal or rare earth oxides. (III) are N oxides (which are converted to N2 and O2). Dust particles are removed by pre-filtration. (II) is heated, pref. by IR radiation. USE/ADVANTAGE - For eliminating O3 formed in corona discharges and is also useful for purifying other (I) contg. O3. The appts. consists of a 3-pt. filter system.
