The EDP installation has at least one tele-facsimile appts., engaged scanner for bar code or OCR alphabet, and a series-coupled decoder. The scanner is directly located at the output stage of the tele-facsimile appts. All documents from the facsimile appts. are continuously and automatically scanned for the bar code or OCR letters. Then the optically scanned signals are reconverted into electric signals and supplied to a decoder, converting them into keyboard signals, or serial signals. Then they are transferred to the EDP installation. The information signals are then transmitted to the original, remote tele-facsimile appts. or to any other such appts.
