The system is for construction of a sealing base under abandoned polluted areas, e.g. refuse tips, etc. It has a driving shield, and this is connected via a tunnel to an excavation etc. The shield moves under the tip along overlapping strips, and installs a mainly mineral sealing material. Connected length of sealing sheeting (1) are imbedded into the sealing material. A profile e.g. of steel, is installed along the outer free edge of the last sealing sheeting strip. to keep the edge level. The profile consists of two shaped sections, screwed together.
