The profile strip (10) has an L-profile with a vertical leg(12) and a horizontal leg (14). A raised edge (40) of a roof sealing film (38) can be covered by the profile strip on the inner side of the wall edge (28) of the flat roof by the vertical leg of the profile strip and on the upper side of the wall edge by the horizontal leg, to form a seal. Preferably, the horizontal leg forms a fold (14,16), in which the edge of sealing film can be fixed. An Independent claim is included for a method for renovating flat roofs.
