On a foot plate (1) is located a frame column (2), to which height-adjustable arms are fitted. The lower arm pair carries the object table (14), on which the two objects (15',15'') to be compared are arranged. On the upper pair arms (3) are holders (4) which carry endoscopes (5). The endoscopes are special, rigid and of the highly magnifying type, having a straight shaft at the upper end of which is an eyepiece (7) and at the lower end a lens (6). The extent of magnification is e.g. 50 x or 100 x, according to usage requirements. Video cameras (8) are angled to the eyepieces (7) of both endoscopes (5) and are connected by video signal cables (9) to a video mixer (10). This comprises a range of adjustment units in order to influence as desired the signals coming from the video cameras (8). The video mixer (10) is connected via a further cable (11) to a video monitor (12), on the picture screen of which the video camera pictures are presented. The pictures (13',13'') are presented next to one another and by adjustment of the video mixer (10) they can be presented overlapping, with one in red and one in green.
