The tailgate is hinged along the top edge, via hinges, to the roof of a car body. The car has an integral roof rack (2,3), and the rear feet (4,5) have a hinge (6,7) on either side of the car. The tailgate (10) has a top arm (8,9) on either side, and the arms are joined to the hinges. Each foot has a recess (12,13), and the arm ends are turnably held in these. USE/ADVANTAGE - Tailgate for car with simpler assembly; no reinforcements in body required.
