Process for biochemical treatment of harmful and odorous gas streams, in which the foul laden gas stream is allowed to flow through a treatment chamber containing special microorganisms, adaptable to the degradation of harmful or malodorant pollutants, immobilised on a carrier material, which is novel in that the content of the treatment chamber is moistened with an aq. medium enriched with substrate ingredients for the active bacteria, micro and macro elements, and that the gas stream is fed co-current with the aq. medium through the treatment vessel.
