摘要
A method of converting granular ion-exchange resins into a combustible gas in a gasification reactor followed by burning the gas with added oxygen in a combustion chamber connected to the reactor. The resin in the reactor passes, by gravity, through a drying zone and then through a low-temp. carbonisation zone. Several features and variants of the method, and of a shaft furnace used, are claimed. USE/ADVANTAGE - These resins are used primarily for removing unwanted ions or electrolytes from watery solns., e.g. when preparing feedwater in conventional power-stations. The method claimed ensures that they are gasified in such a way that only a small quantity of solids (that contains harmful substances) remains, and that an easily burnable gas is obtd..
