Cultivation process for ecological agriculture - comprises ploughing the soil, sowing and harvesting a first crop, applying natural salt soln. for weed control and sowing and harvesting a second crop
A cultivation process for ecological agriculture without using synthetic herbicides comprises (a) ploughing or loosening the soil; (b) preparing the seed beds and sowing the first crop; (c) harvesting the first crop; (d) weed control using a salt soln. obtd. from minerals and consisting essentially of NaCl and/or KCl; (e) planting out or sowing the second crop in the unploughed soil; and (f) harvesting the second crop. In an alternative process, an intermediate crop, which freezes off in the winter is sown in step (b) and any non-frozen intermediate crops plants or weeds are pulled off as in (c). The rest of the steps are as given above. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is ecologically sound and uses no synthetic herbicides. The substances used are natural and the amount of weeds is kept very low in an economical manner. Not ploughing the soil between the first and second crops is advantageous in that air and light, which would be let in on ploughing, would cause germination of weeds present in the soil
