In a process and assembly to separate dust from coal burner smoke gases, the novelty is that the dust particles are concd. in a peripheral zone as they change direction by means of a baffle collectors; that the particles impinge on the baffles at different heights and are selectively removed from the gas flow; that the smoke boundary layer flow is force-fed both before and or during the directional change. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement and assembly separates dust particles from smoke gases. The arrangement enables a selection to be achieved of the particles to be separated by treating all or part of the smoke gases.
