The circuitry contains power semiconductor elements (8-11) with a load path in series with the load (7), and a control circuit (4), fed by a control voltage and generating an analog output signal supplied to the control terminal of the power semiconductor(s). A short circuit protection circuit (6) determines the voltage on the load path. The short circuit protection circuit limits the output signal of the control circuit for each value of the determined voltage. Pref. a further protection circuit (5) blocks the power semiconductor upon overheating. USE/ADVANTAGE - Short circuit protected magnetic valves, no measuring resistor required in load circuit.
