Mixer for multiple reactive components - blends materials in vessel which contains static mixers and is jacketed with heat exchanger so that mix is e.g. cooled while not in use

In appts. for mixing multiple components together the individual materials are fed in together and blended together in a vessel contg. static mixers. The mixer itself is inside a heat exchanger so that the appts. is cooled when not in use and is heated when in operation. In the figure the two component materials (A, B) are fed in to a mixer block (2) which is attached to a vessel contg. static mixers (3). A thermal control arrangement (4) has a sleeve which can be fitted over the static mixer (3) and which is a heat exchanger tube (5) with inlet and outlet (51, 52) for the agent used and outer lagging (6). The heat exchanger liq. is supplied (7) and pumped back. The sleeve is fitted over the static mixer (3) and heated or cooled as appropriate. When interrupting prodn. e.g. over night residual material in the mixer (3) is cooled down enough to prevent hardening. The temp. can then be raised again when continuing operations the next day. ADVANTAGE - The appts. has a low power consumption and occupies little space. It provides a mix which has a longer pot life than at room temp.
