The motor vehicle has a flexible shaft (1) which connects the steering wheel to the steering linkage. This flexible shaft (1) consists of a hollow cylinder formed by the helical winding of wire which is bent to a sinusoidal form. The helical coils are so wound that the peaks of the waves of one coil are fitted into the troughs of the adjoining coil. Specially shaped fittings with internal contours which match the form of the coils, grip each end and fasten it to a rigid shaft. USE - Motor vehicle steering system.
